Is Your Car Ready for the Summer Heat?

Summer road trip

Summer is in full swing and we’d like you to take a few minutes to make sure your vehicle is in shape to take on those hot summer temps.

Check the Radiator                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              It’s the most important device for cooling down your car’s engine. Make sure the fluid levels are good and check it often throughout these hot summer days. More fluid is used during the hot months to keep the engine at the proper temperature.

Check your Air Conditioner                                                                                                                                                                                                                             Anyone who has been without air conditioning on a 90° + day knows the importance of a system that is working properly. The most noticeable sign of an A/C issue is if no cold air is blowing through the system. If you notice leaking from under the front of the car in addition to the A/C not blowing cold air, this is usually a sign that the refrigerant is leaking.  Since the vehicle’s refrigerant is under high pressure and harmful to the atmosphere, it’s best to leave any inspection or maintenance to a qualified professional.

Check Your Tires                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Statistics show we drive more in summer and that means more wear on those tires. Make sure they have the correct amount of tire pressure. Tires can lose about 1psi each month, so check them regularly to make sure the inflation level is where it should be. The proper level for your vehicle is usually found on a sticker on the inner driver-side door. Make sure your spare tire is properly inflated. You never know when you might need it!

Here’s to a safe and happy summer road trip!wheel of a black sport car
